the Awarded Movies and the Secrets Behind the Scenes

The Food Film Fest hits for the twelfth time the Big Apple: for five days, from 23 to 28 of October, New York City has been the outstanding home of a series of events where food and film lovers got to “Taste What They See on the Screen”.

As it has been over the course of 12 years, the Festival was a multisensory food and film experience, with the guests at each event served the food from the films they watched. The Festival is a competitive challenge and Official Selections are reviewed by a judging panel comprised of esteemed members of the food and film communities. This year, the event started with the World Premiere of Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown/Lower East Side presented by CNN Original Series: the episode follows Bourdain on a personal journey through this formerly bohemian New York City neighborhood, as he meets, shares meals and reflects with music, film and art trailblazers.

Like every year, the Festival benefitted important non-profit organizations: in 2018 the choice was the Billion Oyster Project and its mission to restore oyster reefs to the New York Harbor through public education initiatives, aiming to plant 1 billion oysters in New York Harbor by the year 2025.

“Without fail, every year the quality of food filmmaking goes up. Our audiences are in for quite a treat this year!” said the Festival director George Motz before the competition kicked off.

And everybody enjoyed, of course. And not only with their eyes.

Hereafter you can find the full list of awarded works.
