OpenTable’s list of 50 Best Restaurants for Vegetarians in the US

Open Table, the online restaurant reservation booking company, have released their list of the 50 Best Restaurants for Vegetarians in the US.

The list highlights the most popular veg-forward restaurants across the US, meaning the restaurant must simply “feature vegetables front and center, creatively presented with expert technique and serious attention to flavor” without being strictly vegan or vegetarian.

New York restaurants dominate the list with 11 entries, including Amanda Cohen‘s Dirt Candy and Michelin starred Nix, while the California on the West coast comes in a close second with nine restaurants (just two in San Francisco) and the District of Colombia follows up in third place.

The list is compiled on the analysis of 12,000,000+ reviews of more than 28,000 restaurants across the country submitted by verified diners. And while it certainly gives a good flavour of vegetarian hotspots, it’s also worth keeping in mind that the list only covers restaurants that are listed on the platform, so shop around if you’re new in town, you’re sure to find yet more vegetarian options.

The results would also seem to tally with the findings of wallethub last year, when they reported that New York is the most vegan and vegetarian-friendly city in the US.

Last month OpenTable also released their 100 Best Restaurant for wine lovers.
